Must Do in Tulum | Jashita Hotel in Soliman Bay
We like to call our Jashita Hotel “Tulum’s Best Kept Secret”, and much of the credit for this has to be given to our beautiful Soliman Bay. In case you’ve never heard of this enchanting location - hence our nickname -, Soliman Bay is probably the most secluded, private, and off-the-beaten-track beaches of the Mayan Riviera.
The bay lies 15 km north of Tulum and 1.5 hrs driving south of Cancun’s airport (CUN), making it the perfect spot for those who like to be away from the crowds, but still close to everything.
If on the one hand Tulum has become a fast-evolving and ever-changing site, on the other hand, in Soliman Bay time seems to have stopped. In the 90s, the bay was inhabited by only a tacos restaurant at its end (Chamico’s), and a couple of rustic villas along its beach. A couple of decades, a small boutique hotel and a few private villas later, time still seems to flow at a slower pace here.
Why? We believe it is thanks to our precious Coral Reef.
Not only does the reef protect us from the waves, but it also appears to block negative thoughts, stress, modern days obligations, and the passing of days. The barrier that encloses Soliman Bay, is the same that runs all the way down to Honduras, becoming the world’s second-largest coral reef. This makes the sea in front of us shallow, flat as a mirror, and populated with incredible and colorful tropical fish. The crystal-clear water is an invitation to extraordinary adventures: snorkeling, scuba diving, paddle-boarding, and kayaking, to admire the bay from its every angle.
Now that you’ve found us, we hope you too will add Soliman Bay to your must-do in Tulum list.
